YOUTH in ACTION project:

"Economic Crisis-Unemployment-Entrepreneurship-Migration of Young People in the European Union

 

 

The Project is a three-parted exchange of young people from Cyprus, Italy and Greece, which will last six days and will be held at the Scout Camp Centre in the village Kavallaris in Kilkis (region of T.S. Mouries), during which the young participants will have the opportunity to exchange views on:

- The impact of the economic crisis in their countries, in their daily lives, in the labor market, employment, their opportunities for entrepreneurship and for the migration as a way out of all this.

- The conditions of work and employment for young people in each country, the conditions for legal work and operation of businesses in these countries, difficulties, constraints and the current environment for young-new immigrants.

- The chain of data that they must take in account thinking to migrate to a foreign country, how to decide, not in a harry, but coolly and logically, so as the final decision of either positive or negative to be well "weighted" and grounded in objective data and lead to achieving the goals set

 

The organizations that will work together to implement the project are:

 

CULTURAL EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF T.S. MOURIES COMMUNITY, Kilkis, GREECE: Applicant body and project coordinator. It will host the exchange in Greece, in Kilkis Municipality, Community Kavallaris, area T.S.Mourion.

 

ASTERISCO ASSOCIATION FOR THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMICAL DEVELOPMENT, ITALY: the staff of Asterisco will provide all the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare youth participants for the mobility as well to promote the project and disseminate its results to the Italian and European society.

 

ORGANIZATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF EUROPEAN ISSUES, Paphos, CYPRUS: The organization will involve young people from Cyprus (Paphos area), it will be responsible for the organizational aspects of the young-team there and it will work with the other partners to implement the project.

 

The objectives of the exchange are:

-Exchange of views on the situation in each participating country, both in the work market in general and in the profession/business found interesting

-Update and analysis of unemployment rates and relevant statistics in each country

-Presentation and exchange of views on the needs that lead young people in immigration

-Information for young people wishing to learn about the situation in the labor market and entrepreneurship in participating countries in order to learn the positive and negative data of each country and finally to decide whether it is worthwhile to migrate or not

-Develop knowledge, skills and attitudes of young people in relation to work and entrepreneurship (eg labor rights in EU countries, labor obligations, professional behavior, work, exploitation of Internet etc.)

-Presentation of opportunities for employment and business creation in each participating country and especially in sectors offering jobs and showing margins for business.

-Develop innovative ideas for entrepreneurship in an EU country and for possible relative partnerships

-Registration of ideas and discussion about creative coverage of free-time for young people, so as in the hazy economic and working environment for all and especially for young people to find possibilities and convert the current conditions into an opportunity for something better in the future.

-Familiarity of young people between them during the exchange, familiarity with different cultures of each country, developing a positive perception of the different philosophies, so as the week of exchange to be a good "school" for everyone and even more for those who seriously consider immigration as a solution, especially in the countries involved.

 

It is planned to be involved 15 young people and 2 companions from each country. Participants should be aged 18 to 25 years. However, 20% of each group can be aged 26 to 30 years.

 

The main planned activity is the exchange itself, net duration 6 days, during which young people will meet each other, they will present the organizations that represent, will deposit all their experiences, knowledge and views on the issue of exchange "Economic crisis, unemployment-entrepreneurship-migration of young people in the European Union", they will compare situations and data in the three countries, they will consider alternatives to migration (innovation, entrepreneurship, employment), they will discuss all these and they will decide themselves for the form of the effects of this whole process-exchange: It will be a comparative study of the situation in three countries, a call to young people if all of them agree on this, or a thought and decision process that must be followed by the young before getting such a serious decision about his life and career.
